Recital FAQ

When is the Recital?

Recital dates are set once we secure the venue. This year the Open Class Recital is Saturday June 6, 2026. For our younger dancers, there is a Petite Recital (Ages 4-6) usually the Saturday prior to the main recital. In 2026 it is May 30.

What do Volunteers do at Recital?

If you've been to one of our recitals before, you will know that it takes a village to bring the audience a professionally run show and a positive experience for the dancers. Everyone has been working hard all season to showcase their talent and skills at this event! It is customary for us to call for volunteers to assist in the backstage area and dressing rooms to support and monitor the dancers, as well as scan tickets and usher guests to their seats. Volunteers will always be able to watch their dancer perform on the stage. Sign up HERE

What About Costumes and Shoes?

In January, you received a charge for recital fee. This covers the cost of the costume and recital tights. Recital is a professional show with a high standard of presentation in production, costuming, music, and choreography. Dance shoes for recital must be clean and appropriate. Each teacher will specify what shoes will be required for the show. There is a list in the Dancewear Shoppe for your convenience.

Pictures & Videos

For dancer safety, no photography or video recording is allowed in the theater, including cell phones (please turn them off). Professional recording is provided for the main Friday and Saturday recitals only. Details will be shared after the event. Please feel free to capture moments at the Petite Recital, but no flash photography as it is not safe for dancers.
